• Are you licenced for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships? We are not currently licensed for civil ceremonies but an application is in process.

    Non civil ceremonies can be held at Cold Harbour Barn both indoors and outdoors with a capacity of up to 102 (including registrar, celebrant and couple).

    For non civil ceremonies, you will need to book a celebrant. 

    Is there an extra fee for holding our ceremony at the venue?

    We do charge extra for ceremonies when you book your wedding at Cold Harbour Barn.

    Indoor Ceremony £500, Outdoor Ceremony £600

    You will also need to book a celebrant.

  • What is the capacity of the venue?

    Cold Harbour Barn has capacity for 100 (seated) or 160 (standing).

    Outside we have ample space for outdoor ceremonies.

  • Do you allow external caterers?

    You are free to choose your own professional caterer who holds a food hygiene certificate and public liability insurance.

    We work with some great local caterers, who we are very happy to recommend. Please see our Suppliers List page.

    What facilities do you have for our caterers use? We have a catering hut, which has washing and preparation facilities. We provide tables and chairs (for guests) when you book the barn, and all glassware for your event.

    Will you run a bar for our wedding? Cold Harbour Barn is a fully licenced venue and we have our own well stocked and reasonably priced bar and staff who run it on your big day. Our bar stock and price list are available on request.


    Can we provide our own alcohol?

    If you would like to provide your own wine for the Wedding Breakfast there is a service charge cost of £10 per bottle of wine, £12.50 per bottle of Prosecco and £15 per bottle of Champagne.

    Do you provide the drinks for the welcome drinks, Wedding Breakfast and Toasts?

    We offer a standard drinks package or a bespoke package is available on request.

    Standard Package:

    Arrival drinks - 2x glasses of Prosecco, Orange Juice or Elderflower

    Wedding Breakfast - Half bottle of house wine (Red - Rioja or White -Sauvignon Blanc)                             

    Toasts - Flute of Prosecco

    Price - £22.50 per person

    If you would like to swap Prosecco for Champagne the price would be an extra £10 per person.

    We can supply bottled mineral water (still and sparkling) at £2.50 per bottle or we will just serve chilled tap water in glass jugs on each table. We supply all of the glasses for the duration of the event.

    We use the Oxford Wine Company to supply all of our wine so if you require any particular wine then we can source it for you.



  • Can we have a live band or DJ at our wedding? We are fully licenced for a live band or a DJ

    Do you allow candles, firepits, sparklers and fireworks? Our fire pit is included in the venue hire fee ~ we will light this and provide wood. Unfortunately we do not allow the release of fireworks, Chinese lanterns or any naked flames inside the barn.

  • Is there parking on site? We have plenty of parking for all your guests, who are welcome to leave their cars overnight at their own risk. If doing so, we ask that cars are collected by midday the day after your wedding.

    Taxis. Due to the remote location we advise that guests arrange taxis prior to your event. There is no public transport.

    How late can we celebrate? Our finish time is midnight, with last orders at 11.30pm, last dance at 11.45pm. Late finishes (to 1am) are available for an additional fee.

  • Is there any more accommodation nearby?

    Our newly built, off grid cabin is hidden a short walk away from the barn within an 11 acre private woodland which you will have exclusive use, the only sounds you will hear are those of nature. 

    The perfect place to wake up as newlyweds. 

    The cabin sleeps two people in a king size bed and has a two seater sofa and a small kitchen. There is a short wander of about 40 m through the trees to find a shower and toilet hut.

  • With prior notice we can make Cold Harbour Barn accessible to all. Guests with disabilities must be seated adjacent to the fire exit due to Health & Safety regulations and extra toilet facilities can be arranged at the hirer’s cost.

  • Are we allowed confetti at Cold Harbour Barn?

    Only fresh petal confetti is permitted at Cold Harbour Barn. There is strictly no metallic, paper or silk confetti permitted.

  • Cold Harbour Barn bar accepts both cash, card, apple pay, amex, and most forms of payment

  • No animals are permitted at the barn unless by prior agreement, and only when specified in  your contract or with written agreement.
